The Power Of Diligence

Today, I have this impression in my heart to talk about diligence. I do not know why, but I have learnt never to disobey my spirit once I have clarity of instruction. Obviously, there's somebody out there that need this today and can use this today, I definitely can use it too. It is said that

“If you see a man that is diligent in his business, he will stand before kings and not unknown men.” Proverbs 22:29

"Diligence is man's precious possession." Proverbs 12:27B

Diligence and excellence goes hand in hand. A person that is diligent, skillful and mindful of his business can never be found with people of no means. He will always be found among great achievers. A diligent person pays attention to the minute details, leaves no stone unturned, and always possessing the ability to know what, how and why he is doing what he is doing.

He realizes that the “WHAT” is the knowledge, which is a degree of learning and essential to succeeding in his endeavor, so we can't stop learning. Mistakes, failures and successes are part of learning and once we learn from those, we are more diligent and will even do better the next time around.

The “HOW” is the wisdom it takes to apply the knowledge he possesses about his endeavor. Any person can posses knowledge and still be a total failure. The world is full of educated derelicts. It is not enough to have knowledge, one needs the wisdom to aptly apply the acquired knowledge so the knowledge can be profitable.

The “WHY” is the understanding, the reason, for what he’s doing. Reason for been, reason for existing and reason for purpose. Without understanding why a person is doing something, it means there's no clarity of purpose and if there's no clarity of purpose, the person will be directionless and will just be falling for anything and everything without achieving anything worthwhile.

Wihout diligence, a person will just wander about like a ship without direction.

The key note here …knowing your purpose, having clear directions and giving it all you have without bending to adversity will place you among great men.

You are so welcome Roz. You are the city on a hill that cannot be hid. Remember what you said yourself and i quote you. "I never expect to lose. Even when I'm the underdog, I still prepare a victory speech." That'sn unwavering commitment to your purpose, so how can you not win. The world is yours.

  5. Great word, esp about the details. Most people just want to skip over the small stuff and get to the big stuff! Instead of the devil being in the details (a secular saying) I believe that GOD is the one who is in them!! Hallelujah! Thank you Bro :)

  6. Thank you Julie: Yes God is in every details, and I believe we should do like our Father does. Pay attention to the details. Be diligent in the littlest thing. He that is faithful in little will be rewarded with much. Like they always say, little drops of water becomes the ocean and little grains of sand makes up the whole earth. God bless you.

  7. Great post. It is so true, that to be diligent one must be mindful of the situations and things around them and to the task at hand. I like how you talk about knowledge, wisdom and understanding. I agree completely in that knowledge in and of itself is not enough, the Bible talks about the knowlege of man being but a breath to God. It's the wisdom and understanding applied to knowledge that truly makes one an effective instrument further advancing their goals in their own life and also in God's kingdom. Great post, I look forward to reading more from you :)

  8. Hi There Jessica:

Thanks for the comment on the post. Yes, you are right, Wisdom is the application of knowledge, and yes you are right, knowledge in and by itself means nothing. The bible says with all our getting, we should get UNDERSTANDING...That is the key. Have a wonder-full and wonder-filled week

  11. Joshua, I agree with you, there is power in diligence.

I have always been a diligent person as it is one of my traits, that the Lord blessed me with.

However, I took it to the extreme and became a perfectionist which can be a positive and negative. I have now balanced it in my life, as I learn through the diligent reading of God's Word and through my discovery of who I am in Christ.

    God Bless you more
